Privacy Policy
Last updated: 4 October 2026
Hubbub (tryhubbub.com) helps businesses find Reddit threads where people are asking for what they sell, drafts replies in the business’s voice with AI, and tracks leads from first reply to won. This policy explains what information we collect to do that, why, who helps us process it, and the choices you have.
“Hubbub”, “we” and “us” mean the operator of Hubbub. “You” means the person using Hubbub, usually on behalf of a business.
The short version
- We don’t use the Reddit API and never log into Reddit on your behalf from our servers.
- We never ask for or store your Reddit password or session cookies. Replies are sent from your own browser, and only after you approve them.
- We don’t sell personal data and we don’t use advertising trackers.
- You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your data at any time.
Information we collect
Account information. Your email address and name. Sign-in is handled by Supabase, using an email and password or, where offered, Google sign-in. We never see your password in plain text.
Workspace information you give us. Your company website, the business profile and fact sheet Hubbub builds from it (which you can edit), competitors, subreddits, tracker keywords and your chosen reply voice.
Public Reddit content. Links, titles and short snippets of public Reddit threads that match your trackers, the subreddit they’re in, and — when captured — the author’s Reddit username and the thread text.
What you create in Hubbub. AI-generated drafts, the replies you edit and approve, lead pipeline stages, deal values and notes.
Basic logs. Technical records such as request times, errors and actions taken in your workspace, used to keep the service running and secure.
How we find Reddit threads
Hubbub does not use the Reddit API. To discover threads, we read the newest public posts and comments in the communities you choose from a public Reddit archive (Arctic Shift), which mirrors what is posted publicly on Reddit. We then use AI to pick out the posts where someone is asking for what you sell. Hubbub’s servers do not log into Reddit and do not act as you on Reddit.
The full text of a thread is captured only when you open it in your own browser with the Hubbub Connect extension installed.
The Hubbub Connect extension
Hubbub Connect is an optional Chrome extension. It:
- pairs with your workspace using a token you generate in Hubbub;
- reads Reddit pages you open — the thread text and your own Reddit username — to capture threads and to confirm replies you’ve posted;
- inserts or sends replies you have approved, from your own browser and your own Reddit account;
- can remind you when a scheduled post is due.
It only runs on reddit.com pages, and talks only to your Hubbub workspace. It does not send your Reddit password or session cookies to us, and we never replay your Reddit session from the cloud.
How we use information
- to run Hubbub: find and score threads, draft replies, and track your pipeline;
- to keep your account and workspace secure and to prevent abuse;
- to fix problems and improve the product;
- to contact you about your account and important changes to the service.
We don’t use your data for advertising and we don’t sell it.
Who processes your data
We use a small number of service providers to run Hubbub. Each only gets what it needs to do its job:
- Vercel — hosts the Hubbub app (Sydney region).
- Supabase — database and authentication (Sydney, ap-southeast-2).
- OpenRouter — routes AI requests to model providers such as Anthropic and others. To score threads and write drafts, we send the relevant thread content and your workspace profile.
- Dodo Payments — our merchant of record for subscriptions. It receives your name, email and payment details to take payment and issue invoices. We never see or store your card number.
- Arctic Shift (a public Reddit archive) — receives the names of the communities we read. It receives nothing about you or your business.
Your data is stored in Australia (Sydney). AI model providers may process requests in other countries, including the United States. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users or others.
People on Reddit
Hubbub processes public Reddit content, which can include Reddit usernames and anything people chose to post publicly. We use it only to help our customers find and respond to relevant conversations. If you’re a Reddit user and want content about you removed from Hubbub, email privacy@tryhubbub.com.
Cookies
We only use essential cookies: sign-in and session cookies that keep you logged in, and a cookie that remembers which workspace you have selected. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
How long we keep data
We keep your data while your account is active. You can ask us to delete it at any time. When an account is deleted, we remove its workspace data within 30 days, except where copies remain in routine backups for a limited time or where we must keep something to meet a legal obligation.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access is limited to what’s needed to run the service, and workspaces are separated from each other. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will tell you if a breach affects you.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, export or delete your personal data. Email privacy@tryhubbub.com and we’ll respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have other rights under local law, including the right to complain to your data protection regulator.
Children
Hubbub is a tool for businesses and isn’t intended for anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we make meaningful changes, we’ll update the date above and let you know by email or in the app before they take effect.
